Getting the Random Stuff Out of the Way

  • I finally figured out how to use the work scanner to scan some old pictures as you can see in my flickr.
  • I’m trying to get my spam here under control. Askimet was storing lots of comments that weren’t spam so I added one of the comment tools; I hope it helps. Oh and I turned off Askimet for the time being. If you are logged in however then you don’t need to worry about any of it.
  • I didn’t like not being able to contact Erik by cell phone. I particularly missed being able to text message him through my email with something quick. While he realized how much he needs his phone now I think once his mom starts calling every few hours again he’ll wish he were without it.
  • We’ve been assigned a new boss and I’m super bummed. My boss was one of the best things about my job and I’m sure you all know how rare it is to get a boss you are comfortable with. I’m unsure about the new boss, although I know her, it all depends on how well we mesh with her.
  • One of the things my old boss was really great about and that was my commute. If I got stuck in really bad traffic and was late she wouldn’t make me make up the time. If it was snowing really badly she would understand if I couldn’t make it in. I’ve heard my new boss isn’t so understanding about those things.
  • I think I’ve been staring at the computer screen too much lately and it doesn’t feel very good.
  • I have all new smilies if you haven’t noticed yet…enjoy!
  • Think I should do a nice chalk drawing for Erik this weekend to make up for the not so loving one I did over the weekend?
  • I ate leftover chicken parmesan for lunch today from our dinner out last night…I love me some chicken parm!
  • Believe it or not I’m bubbling with lots of interesting things to share on here but I had to get my random post out of the way. I also had to post about the cell phone drama last night because it was just too comical (now of course not at the time).
  • Have a lovely day and Bah Humbug.

Tricks Up His Sleeve

I must admit, Erik is a pretty crafty guy. I can’t tell you how many situations he’s gotten himself out of that most people couldn’t (or wouldn’t even bother).

So last night when I got home we headed out to attempt to replace his phone without having to buy a whole new phone. He had an idea though, as he always does.

He looked up some stuff online and found out that the first thing they look for when you say your phone isn’t working is the battery. If the battery got wet then there is this place on your phone that will be marked pink. So Erik switched his battery with mine (his still works though it’s the phone that doesn’t) and we went to Circuit City.

We waited a while and then Erik talked to a woman who immediately took out the battery on his phone and inspected it. Then she handed him back the phone and told him to either call a number that she gave us or to go to the wireless company that was down the road.

We decided it was better to get the phone sooner rather than later so we went right over there and did the whole schpeel again. This time the guy didn’t even check anything but instead looked to see if he had the phone in stock and luckily he did. We waited 15 minutes and had a brand new phone without having to pay a penny.

But then – we get to the car and he asks me to call his phone to see if it works. I’d specifically left my phone in the car in order not to make it more complicated. I then noticed my phone wasn’t where I left it and immediately got very worried.

Suddenly Erik pulls another phone out of his coat pocket and we see that it was the OLD BROKEN PHONE and I am suddenly like “did you give MY phone to the guy??” Of course he jumps out of the car and heads back to the store at that point. I come in afterwards and while Erik did give the guy my phone it was worked out and I got it back :dazed:

So everything worked out and in the end and as usual he got himself out of another sticky situation.

The True Miracle

Love at first sight is easy to understand; it’s when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle.

Why?

  • Why do they show Red Lobster commercials all the time where I live when the closest one is Connecticut?
  • Why is it the other lane in traffic is always going faster than yours and if you move over to the faster one that one slows down and the other one speeds up?
  • Why do you always run into an ex when you haven’t showered in 2 days and are wearing sweatpants with holes in it?
  • Why do most of us bloggers talk about our significant others but they rarely comment on our blogs?
  • Why must people always say “how are you doing?” in passing when they really aren’t looking for an answer? Why not just say hi with a :cheesy: ? I rarely have enough chance to say “fine, how are you?” and they are long gone…it’s annoying
  • Why is it when I find out a guy is gay he’s suddenly much more attractive?
