I’ve made some wonderful friends over the years online. I think I started making friends online around 1998 or so.
I think the relationships that went bad are the ones that stand out the most. The problem with having a relationship that is purely online is you don’t have that physical interaction with the other person. Have you ever said something online and it was taken the wrong way? Did you wish you used that  or
smilie to get your tone across?
In my online life unfortunately friendships have ended and relationships have soured. I used to care deeply about this because this person I once chatted with on a daily basis has now become awkward or impossible. There really needs to be a handbook on how to handle online relationships and how not to ruin it.
With a recent problem I had with a fellow blogger I now stand back and wonder exactly what happened. We had a disagreement (it happens), while not on the computer his comments ended up in Spam, I corrected the weird Spam problem and tried to explain it to him but as I see it whatever friendship we had seems to be gone. I go to his blog from time to time but it’s not the same. I really enjoyed commenting on his blog and getting into discussions with him but I guess things change.
A new year is starting and I’m not going to get into anymore of these rediculous situations, real life is hard enough as it is.

There is this woman at work who is litterally the sweetest and most upbeat person in the whole world. If she ever says anything negative she doesn’t make it sound that way.
She was telling us how she lost the water in her house the on the Wednesday before Christmas and the town sent people in to fix it. They dug up her whole yard and made a mess. She had to use a hose from her yard for her water. Then there was a gas leak and as you can imagine this all went on for days. It got so bad for Christmas she and her husband and her cat had to spend Christmas in their car.
Mind you she’s telling this story with a big smile on her face and laughing. She tells us how she brought out all the workers bread and coffee.
The rest of us look at her and tell her while telling that story we would have added in several choice swear words. I just look at her and say:
“You weren’t born in Massachusetts were you?”
Everyone laughs…they laugh because they know it’s true

Ok so I’ve decided I’m going to list my New Years Hopes instead of Resolutions because I just really don’t want the pressure. Also considering I haven’t had this blog even a year yet if I do keep this up until the next New Years then it will be
to look back on what I’d hoped for and if anything worked out.
- That I’m still blogging by 2007
- That my boyfriend’s issues are settled and that we can make plans for the future
- Getting in shape (I’m going to leave that open and hope whatever I feel “in shape” means is what I feel I’ve accomplished in a year)
- Make going to the gym a habit all year long
- Lose 20 lbs
- That I write a novel, an entire novel
